| Providing help and hope to those in need |

| This is our current site, which we have occupied for the last two years. As of June 30th, 2008 we will have to move due to the building owner losing this property to foreclosure. We learned of this action only after a real estate agent representing the new owners arrived at our office and informed us that we had less than 30 days to move. As we were in good standing with our rental payments for that month, we engaged the services of Jason J. Jakob, Attorney at Law to handle our case. Mr Jakob was able to perform a legal miracle, and we were granted a two month stay of eviction, RENT FREE. Our story has appeared twice on KENS 5 San Antonio news, with further details to be included as our case unfolds. As of this writing we have not found a suitable site to relocate, due to lack of funding and the need to find a comparable building. We currently house and feed 8 individuals, 2 of whom are disabled veterans. It is our duty to continue to provide clean, safe and comfortable housing for all our residents, as well as expand our services. We ask that you consider making a donation to our cause. We have been in business for over 16 years, and we intend to continue. But we need your help. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity, so all donations are tax-deductible. See our Donation Button at the bottom of our About Us page for details and instructions for donations. Thank you, and the Lord bless you! *** UPDATE *** As stated above, we were indeed forced to move. The constable came out on Tuesday, July 1st, at 9:45 AM. The bank sent their team about 10 minutes later. At exactly 10:00 AM, they began throwing everything out of the buildings that we did not manage to have put on the rental moving van. The pictures below were taken on the 2nd of July. It was truly a mess, but it was not the end of Sanctuary: A Place for the Displaced. One day later, on the 3rd of July, we moved into our new home at 4826 Roxton Avenue, just inside the 1604 East. For the time being, we will not be taking any new clients, but we will open new locations no later than October 2008. I want to personally thank those that helped us to find and finance our new home, specifically Janice Reed of Bradfield Properties and Ed Harris, one of the Breakfast Club. Of course, we could not have bounced back from such a crisis without the Lord's help! Indeed, one could say that this was a blessing in disguise (DEEP disguise!) for our new location is in a quiet neighborhood without the criminal and drug element we were forced to endure on Dawson Street. The timing of our present location coming on the market just when we needed it was no accident; I personally believe that there are no accidents nor coincidences. |
